KIRBY SUPERSTAR DEV. PROTOTYPE archival no. 40

GRADING REPORT:

Type: Prototype Development Board
Commercial name: Kirby Super Star (NTSC USA)

Briefing:

Kirby Super Star was the name given to this scrolling platformer action videogame in the U.S. and North america territories. It was originally release in that region on September `96, containing several mini-games, it was a commercial success for the Nintendo SNES system.

There was an attemp to develop this videogame on the Nintendo Nes system.
There´s some data about that (a Nes prototype) but only in the form of some layouts, pictures and animations, the full game was supposedly never released nor finished on that system due to its low capabilities.

Featuring the famous processor SA-1 Nintendo chip, this game was a true delight for all the fans and a technological improvement, as were all 33 other games that use this chip aswell. Having this chip on a prototype has proven a difficult task while extracting the ROM information due to its special engineered encryption.
